The original coin was was designed by Victor D. Brenner and minted in 1909 to commemorate the 100th anniversary of Abraham Lincoln’s birth. This replica includes on the reverse side “Golden State Mint” and two wheat spikes, surrounding “Five Troy Oz” and the silver purity. The obverse has a side profile of Mr. Lincoln with “In God We Trust”, “Liberty” and the original year it was produced “1909”. The Golden State Mint’s mark is the small “S”.
