This 1 oz Platinum American Eagle is manufactured by the U.S. Mint, and contains one ounce of .9995 fine platinum.
The obverse side lets freedom ring with an incredibly detailed close-up image of the Statue of Liberty with the word “LIBERTY” behind her crown’s seven spikes. The neoclassical statue sits on an island in New York and forever stands as an international symbol of liberty and justice was given to the United States by the people of France. The words “2020” and “IN GOD WE TRUST” rest beside her head. In smaller text on the left hand side you will read “e pluribus unum”, which is the motto of the U.S.A. meaning “out of many, one”.
The reverse side continues the freedom theme with a beautiful depiction of an eagle with its wings spread, flying through the air. A shimmering sun rises behind a hill at the bottom. The words on this side read the name of the country it was minted in “UNITED STATES OF AMERICA”, the metal content “.9995 PLATINUM 1 oz.” and the face value “$100”.
The U.S. Mint does not sell its bullion coins directly to the public.
