Atop the leaf sits our country’s name, “CANADA”, followed lower down by the gold’s purity “9999” and “FINE GOLD” with the French translation “OR PUR” and the weight “1 OZ”.
Take special note of one of the many security features on this coin, the small maple leaf above the coin’s weight. The obverse side is Queen Elizabeth’s portrait with her name and the coin’s face value “50 DOLLARS” and the year that the gold coin was minted by the Royal Canadian Mint: “2022”.
