Australia’s official bullion mint, the Perth Mint, produced this highly detailed 99.99% pure gold bar celebrating the 2022 Chinese New Year – the Year of the Tiger.
A roaring tiger is depicted, perched on a large rock with the Chinese symbol meaning “tiger” which sits atop the word “TIGER” and “2022”. Take special note of the carnivore’s sharp incisors to tear into its prey as well as the creature’s realistic stripes. The Perth Mint’s mint mark can be seen on the left hand side.
The coin also features designer Jody Clark’s highly acclaimed effigy of Queen Elizabeth II complete with detailed hair curls, crown and jewelry. (His initials are on her right shoulder.) This obverse side also includes the face value, weight, purity as well as “Elizabeth II” and the country of production.
