Casa de Moneda de México

The Casa de Moneda de México is the national mint of Mexico and the oldest mint in the Americas, having been founded in 1535. It mints all legal tender coins of Mexico, for the Banco de México, and produces all of its coinage (pesos) securely in San Luis Potosí.

Many Mexican coins focus on historic attributes of the country, such as the Angel of Independence, which make its gold coins highly sought after by Mexicans as well as collectors and investors around the world. In 1905, the Casa de Moneda de México started using the motto “United Mexican States” on its coins and this tradition continues today.
